William (Bill) Ernest Davis (75), of Chattanooga, TN passed away April 1, 2022. He was born in Chattanooga, TN to William and Willene (Cordell) Davis. Bill was married 57 years to his loving wife Linda (Woodall) Davis.

Bill is a veteran of the United States Army, where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal Expert (Rifle) honors. He received specialized training while in the Army for Military Justice, code of conduct and CBR training. During his time Bill served as an Honor Guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as well as Honor Guard during the inauguration for President Lyndon B. Johnson.  Bill was a very hard worker who had to keep moving all the time. He was known most by "PawPaw" or "Uncle Bill". There was never a moment when he was not giving of his service or lending a hand to others. He enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army anywhere he was needed. Bill loved and took pride in his family and enjoyed every moment he was able to spend with them. He also enjoyed playing cards, motorcycles and having a beautiful yard. Bill had a very loving heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda, daughters, Brenda (David) Vaughn, Tina Henderson, Cindy (Jim) Pilgrim, brothers, David (Brenda), and Samuel (Ruthie) Davis, sisters Elizabeth (Gary) Sewell, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary Anita Davis and one grandson Shane Lancaster.

Honorary Pallbearers include David Vaughn, Jim Pilgrim, Dustin Henderson, James Bredwell, Riley Amoriello and Stacey Hixson.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home Monday, April 4 ^th , 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and will continue Tuesday, April 5 ^th , 2022 from 10:00am until 11:00am. A Chapel service will be held Tuesday, April 5 ^th , 2022 at 11:00am at Hamilton Funeral Home followed by a private burial.
