Wanda Lee Denton age 71 of Chattanooga passed away on April 10, 2026. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Hamilton Funeral Home from 4-6 PM followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Mike Leroux officiating.
She is survived by her daughter Jayne Anne Hutchins (and her husband Blair) of Knoxville, granddaughter Luna Hutchins also of Knoxville, sister Mary Beth Mathews (her husband Hal), their children Christopher (Stephanie) and Jeffrey (Karen), and nieces Haley and Abby. All of whom she loved, and all loved her.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, civil servant and church matriarch Wanda Marie Griggs and her father, Reverend Edward Lee Griggs,
Wanda Lee followed her own rhythm wherever she went. She spent her life in Choir halls, classrooms, the beach, hallways, libraries, craft rooms, and sports fields. She never met a musical instrument she couldn't love.
If you had a question about music; Beethoven to The Beatles, Gospel to Kpop, there was no greater expert. We will miss her, and Heaven's Choirs are a bit more on key now.
