Wanda M. (Hicks) Carver, 76, of Chattanooga passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023.

Wanda was born on July 8, 1947 in Chattanooga to Howell E. and Dorothy L (Hurt) Hicks. She graduated from Red Bank High School in 1966 and attended Chattanooga Vocational – Chattanooga State. She lived in both California and Washington DC where she worked for the FBI and 32nd Naval Base San Diego. After moving back to Chattanooga, she worked for JC Penney, Olan Mills, and CAMCO.

She is survived by daughter, Tisa Carver; son, John Carver; sister, Brenda (Jimmy) O'Dell; brother, Billy (Tatia) Hicks; granddaughter, Riley Carver; nieces, Laura O'Dell, Marli (Neil) Choyce, and Bay Patten; cousin, Deborah.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold "Eddie" Hicks; loving aunts and uncles, Dimple Schwartz, Lawrence Hurt, Harvey Hurt, Bill Hurt, James Hicks, Louise Pippin, Betty Warren, Elizabeth Jenkins, Junior Hicks, and Bob Hicks; and special cousins, Jo, and Clifford.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hamilton Funeral Home, Hixson.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with a graveside service to follow at Chattanooga Memorial Gardens.
