Virginía Borders Richeson Mabe, 93 of Hixson TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday,  January 7, 2026.

She was born on August 20,1932 in Omaha, NE to Lee Arthur and Constance Potter Borders. Her family moved to Dallas, TX when she was 7 years old. They moved again to Red Bank, TN when she was 15. She graduated from Red Bank High School. She met Dean Richeson a few years later and they were married for 53 years. She was Ginny to her friends and Mom and Mamaw to her children and grandchildren.

She was a very loving, family oriented person. She was smart, funny and kind to everyone. She was an avid gardener, loved to read, shop and enjoyed working brain teasing puzzles and games. She was the office manger for Underwood, Wilkey CPA firm for many years. She followed her faith as a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church where she was very involved in her Sunday school class. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but we all rejoice knowing where she is.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, H. Dean Richeson and Robert Mabe; her brother, Lee P. Borders and sister-in-law, Jean Borders.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Holly) Richeson and her daughter, Kim (Tim) Guin as well as four grandchildren; Sam (Lauren) Guin, Sarah (Jason) Lawhorn, Matt (Natalie) Richeson and Nick Guin. Also, precious to her were her six great grands; Jack, Miller, Grace, Eli, Tucker and Izzy.

The family would like to thank the amazing caregivers of Charter Senior Living who have so lovingly taken care of "Ms. Virginia" for the last nine months. Also, thanks to the sweet, loving people from Hearth Hospice for their care these last few weeks.

There will be no formal service and the family will be having their own private celebration of life at a later date.
