Vincent J. Patterson, of Signal Mountain, passed away at the age of 95 on Monday, August 9, 2021.

Vincent was a beloved husband of 42 years to Nancy L. Patterson.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Eley of Lascassas, TN, stepson, Dr. William Holland of Cleveland, TN, and sister, Elaine Farris of Houston, TX.

Vincent is preceded in death by his children, Steven Patterson and Diane Varnado, and his brother Horace J. Patterson.

Vincent joined the American Merchant Marines at the age of 16 and served in World War II and the Korean War. Vincent was a devoted member of the Signal Mountain Lions Club, Signal Mountain Veterans club, and the United States Navy League.

His remains will be cremated and interned at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family asks that memorial gifts be given in the form of donations to Hospice of Chattanooga and the Signal Mountain Lions Club.
