Stephen "Steve" Lee Chappell, 76, was born on October 27, 1945 and departed this life on May 23, 2022. Steve was the leader of a rock 'n roll band and loved music.

He attended the Citadel Military College of South Carolina and was in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward W. Chappell and Frances Fentress Chappell , of Signal Mountain, TN, and Jerry Rowe Chappell of Atlanta, Ga.

He will be greatly missed by his cats and loved ones.

He is survived by his sister, Julie Knighton; friend, Linda Kiah and son, Chad Chappell.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN, with full military honors.

There will be no public visitation.
