Sonya Valeria Phillips Roberts 80, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 9, 2020, surrounded by husband Jerry A. Roberts Sr. of 65 years, daughter Stephanie and husband Steve, and granddaughters Desarae Smith and Stephanee.

Sonya was born August 1, 1940, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She is survived by brother Maxie J. Phillips of Jonesboro, GA, daughter-in-law Kimberly Roberts, and many grand/great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents O.D. and Maybeth Phillips, and son Jerry A. Roberts Jr.

She retired from Delta Airlines in 2001, and moved from Jonesboro, GA to Chattanooga, TN in 2004 to be closer to her son and daughter. Longtime member of Hixson First Baptist Church. A special event will be held by the family in the near future. Thank you, friends, for your Prayers and Love.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to Hixson First Baptist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
