Shirley York

Shirley June York, 78, of Red Bank went to be with the Lord and Savior on December 4, 2020.  She passed away peacefully with her husband and sons by her side.

She was a member of the Brainerd Hills Church of God for over 65 years and was a faithful and loyal child of God. She graduated from Kirkman High School in Chattanooga. At the age of 54, she enrolled at Chattanooga State Community College where she completed two years in Early Childhood Education. After college, she taught and cared for many children for several years at Little Miss Mag Child Care Center. Shirley loved to create and paint ceramics, spend time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren. She was a wonderful and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and nana.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father Theodore Jeffers.

She is survived by her mother Hazel Jeffers and her loving husband of 55 years, Earl C. York Jr., their children Steven (Lyndsie) York, Ronald (Kimberly) York, adored grandchildren William York, Creston York, Corbin York and Isabella June York, her sister Linda Jeffers, brothers Lonnie (Glenda) Jeffers, Terry (Angie) Jeffers and Gary (Angie) Jeffers and brother-in-law Richard (Esther) York.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at 1:00 pm at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.  The service will be officiated by Bishop Charles Pittman.
