Roma Lee Smits went to her heavenly home on February 26, 2025, at the age of 95.  Roma  Lee was born on January 21, 1930, to Samuel and Alice Rollins in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She had 6 brothers and two sisters.  She is survived by her youngest brother, John, who lives in Wisconsin.  Roma had by three daughters: Sandie Reisenbuechler  (grandchildren Jon, Kelly, Jason and great grandchildren Amethyst, Zachery, and Brody);  Debbie Klien (grandchildren Katie and Justin and great grandchildren George, Malina and Roman); and Dana Reiff Brey (grandchildren Nick, and Chris and great grandchildren Scarlet, Dean, and Kiaira).

Roma Lee married Donald Martin Smits on January 25, 1948.  She and Don raised their family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, then retired to Ashville, North Carolina for 15 years.  They moved to Hixson, Tennessee in 2006 to be near the oldest daughter, Sandie.  They transferred to Cross of Christ and were quilters for as long as they were able.  Don passed away in 2010.  Roma Lee spent the last several years living at Everlan senior living facility.  It was lots of fun for her with lots of friends and activities.

A funeral service will be held for Roma Lee at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 3204 Hixson Pike, Chattanooga, TN on June 7, 2025, at 1:30 pm  (Church phone number is 423-877-7447).  In lieu flowers memorials may be sent to Cross of Christ Lutheran church.
