Robert Alan Flowers, 53, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 23, 2023, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Izmir, Turkey on June 12, 1969, he was the son of Lt. Col. David A. Flowers and Cheryl (nee Green) Flowers. He lived in various places in the US, including Biloxi, Colorado Springs, Houston, Atlanta, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale, and Chattanooga. He attended Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale.

Together with his twin brother Steve, he worked for many years creating custom interiors of private jets and yachts. He met his life partner, John Brake, in Fort Lauderdale in 2006. His favorite spot was a vacation home on the Cumberland escarpment in Tennessee, where he embraced nature and beautiful mountain views for many years. In 2019 they relocated to Chattanooga, TN. He was surprised to learn he was a direct male-line descendant of Col. William Clift, a prominent Soddy, TN pioneer land-owner.

Rob loved music, sharing funny jokes, good food, trips to Aspen, online shopping, and almost daily phone contact with his Florida family and dear friends.

Rob is survived by his partner John, grandmother Hilda Green, aunts Bobbie Carter (Jim) and Judi Swann (Rick), cousin Deborah Berning, sister-in-law Ivonne Vasquez, dear friends Roger Trygg, Vince Feconda, and Joshua Nelson, and his beloved dogs Cassie, Barney, and Nelson, all of whom loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents and twin brother Steve.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at CHI Memorial Hospital for their amazing kindness and dedication to his care.

A private memorial and interment will be held in Tampa, FL.
