Robert "Bob"
Earl King
Oct 11, 1931 — Jan 13, 2026
Robert "Bob" Earl King, 94, went home to the Lord on January 13th, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1931, to Katie and Robert King. Bob was one of eight children born and raised in the small town of Palmer, Tennessee.
As a teenager, Bob worked doing odd jobs until he was offered a position at the movie theatre where he worked his way up to being the projectionist. In 1950, he was drafted for military service, choosing the Navy. Eager to see the world beyond his home in Chigger Town, he honorably served for four years aboard the USS Newport News (CA-148), the last active all-gun heavy cruiser in the United States Navy.
After receiving an honorable discharge, Bob returned home to a beautiful lady named Lois Christian. The couple later moved to Chattanooga, where they were married for 61 years, building a life and raising a family together. Bob retired from Mueller Company after thirty years of dedicated and faithful service.
Bob loved working in his yard but also piddling in the garage to pass time. He always had the cleanest yard and garage. Bob and Lois also love to square dance with their friends. He was a loyal, generous soul who touched the lives of all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his daughters Leisa Voss and Tammy Creswell (Robbie); grandchildren Tiffany Cashore (Nathaniel), Lacy Creswell, and Ally Creswell, and great-grandchild Gracie Mae Cashore. He was a beloved "Papa" and they were the light in his eyes.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Earl King; beloved wife, Lois King; parents; Sisters: Mildred, Mary Ella, Louise, and Robbie, who passed shortly after birth; Brothers: Franklin, Jim, and one unnamed who passed at birth.
A Graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery Tuesday, January 20th, 2026 at 12:30.
The Family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Guiding Grace, Morning Point and The Lantern. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.GregO2.org or Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle.
