Richard Bell Lee, 89, of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Richard was a 1950 graduate of Chattanooga High School, a 1955 graduate of Tennessee Technological University and a retired civil engineer in the Transmission and Line Design Section of TVA. He was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and a member of the Sammy Gooden Sunday School class.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Edward and Lillie Field Lee; sisters Ellen Marshall, Elizabeth "Beth" Hiltz and Virginia Settles; brother, Robert "Bob" Lee; and son-in-law Ken Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Dorothy "Dot" Lee, daughter Marcia Kennedy; son Scott (Sara) Lee; grandchildren Carrie Kennedy, Alex Kennedy, Emma (Will) Collins, Lucas (Alyssa) Wiseman; great-grandchildren Clara and Lainey Collins; sisters Billie Lockwood and Sharon Turman; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home.

Inurnment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 11:00 to 12:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service in the chapel.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hixson United Methodist Church (Fuel for Schools or McConnell Scholarship) 5304 Old Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343 or a charity of your choice.
