Regina Helen Melton

Regina Helen Melton, 91 of Chattanooga, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

She was born on November 14, 1934, in Athens, TN to the late W.A. and Abby Womac.

Regina served for many years as the Store Manager at Zayre’s Department Store, where she was known for her dedication, leadership, and friendly spirit. She was also a longtime member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church.

Regina and her beloved husband, Dean, who preceded her in death in November 2025, shared a love of travel and cherished the friendships they made as members of the "Do Nothings" Car Club.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, along with a host of dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Regina's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who provided her with exceptional care, compassion, and devotion throughout the years. Your kindness and unwavering support will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM ~ 1 PM Friday, July 24, 2026, at Hamilton Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

A Celebration of Regina’s Life will follow at 1:30 PM Friday, July 24, 2026, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Roger DeHart officiating.

Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, where Regina will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Dean. Pallbearers will be Scotty Cordell, Tony Cordell, Chad Cordell, John Hardin, Ronnie Rogers and Ned Holder. Brother Billy Wallace will be officiating the committal service.
