Rachel Desmond,84, passed away April 13, 2020 surrounded by love and her family.

She was born in 1935 in Wilburton Oklahoma where she learned the value of hard work and family. Graduating from Madison Academy, she was working at the Southern Publishing Association in Nashville when she met the love of her life Rudy Desmond. Soon they were married and she devoted her life and her love to him for 63 years. She was a beautiful spirit, selfless, hard-working, laughing much and loving her Lord. Loyal and generous, her purpose in life was to provide a loving Christian home for her family and be a witness for God.

Her greatest pleasures were spending time outdoors, gardening, family time, travel and socializing with friends. Holidays, birthdays and large family gatherings would always find her cooking a great meal and playing with children and grandchildren while entertaining with lively conversation, music and singing. She was a loving and giving lady that will be missed by all but the family takes comfort in knowing that her suffering is over and that they will see her again on that glorious day when we meet in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents Whit Field Martin and Zada Beatrice Martin.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Rudy Desmond and her children Carl (Donna) Desmond, Kathleen (Steve) Petarra, Jennifer (Shad) Cloer as well as six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
