Lucie
Wileman
d. Mar 14, 2022
Lucie Wileman passed into eternity on Monday, March 14th, 2022.
The daughter of Buster and Lucile Greening, she was born Lucie Ann Greening on February 17th, 1947, in Bledsoe County, Pikeville, TN. She grew up in Pikeville and graduated from Bledsoe County High School in 1964. Lucie married her high school sweetheart Jim Wileman and they moved to Chattanooga, TN, where they made their home and raised their three children. She was a Christian and was raised in and became a member of the Church of Christ. She remained a homemaker until her children became older, then attended and graduated from Chattanooga State Technical Community College in 1983 with a degree in Data Processing. She was employed by American National Bank, SunTrust Bank, and Ensign the Florist.
Lucie was a soul who, by her nature, left a person feeling lifted and accepted after their encounter. She was content and thankful and let a hurt go without hostility. To her husband, children, and grandchild she was a true, unflagging source of unconditional love decade after decade and a true exemplar of the description of love in I Corinthians: patient; kind; not jealous, boastful, self-seeking, or easily angered; always protecting, trusting, hoping, and persevering. She was a precious gift, beloved of her family, and this is her legacy to them and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James E. Wileman and her parents James Harvey Greening, Jr. and Lucile Lusk Greening. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Malini Wileman of Glastonbury, CT; her daughter Lisa Wileman of this city; and her son Harv Wileman and his daughter Eleanor, also of this city.
There will be a memorial service in Marr Chapel of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church (612 James Blvd, Signal Mountain) this Saturday, March 19, at 3:00 pm.
The family will receive visitors at the church at 2:00 pm just prior to the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson (423) 531-3975.
