Linda Jane Lindsay Grider, 83, of Chattanooga, TN went home to be with the Lord on November, 14th, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.

Linda was born in Rockwood, TN to William Stafford Lindsay and Mabel Jane Lindsay on October 5th, 1940.  Linda graduated from Red Bank High School in 1958, and attended Edmonson Business College soon after.  She married her husband, Thomas Grider, on February 12th, 1959. Linda worked for a time as the church secretary at Lupton Drive Baptist Church where she was a member for 64 years.  She also was a member in the church choir.  Linda retired from G.R. Rush and Company after many years.  Linda was a gifted quilter and cook and she often used her gifts to serve others in her church and community.  Linda devoted her life to her Lord, family, and church.

Linda was a treasure to all that knew her and she was dearly loved.  While we mourn that she is no longer with us here on earth, we mourn with hope because we know that Linda is at home with her savior and free of suffering.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mabel LIndsay; brothers, Paul and Terry Lindsay and two sons, Linsday and Scott Grider.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Thomas Grider, two daughters, Carrie Malone and Susan (Ron) Dixon; sister, Carol Lindsay (Bob) McDaris of Carrabelle, Florida, seven grandchildren, Leigha Erwin, Bradley (Kandace) Malone, Brandon (Dena) Malone, Andrea (Aaron) Petty, Ellenor (Nick) Lee, Damon Parker, and Thomas Grider, 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Lupton Drive Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Bell and Brother Matt Moss officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Brother Roger DeHart officiating.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lupton Drive Baptist Missions Fund.
