John H. Taylor, Jr., 78, passed away on March 12, 2021 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He was born on June 16, 1942 to John H. Taylor., Sr.  and Joy S. Taylor in West Point, Mississippi. He graduated from Messick High School and Georgia Tech and had a great career as a chemical engineer!.  He loved reminiscing about his football career and often would banter back and forth over which conference was the best in sports! Among his many loves were his fishing, St. Paul Episcopal Church and his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Patricia Taylor Ring; grandson, Cody Teague.

He leaves behind four children, John H. Taylor, III, Melanie Teague, Andrew Taylor, and James Taylor, also five grandchildren and brothers, Edward A.Taylor and William L Taylor. He also leaves behind many fishing buddies, business partners and a host of others he met along the way.

The family will have a private memorial service due to COVID 19.

The family request in lieu of flowers a memorial would be given to St. Paul Episcopal Church or a donation of donor's choice.
