John A. Moore (Big John) went home to be with the Lord Monday, August, 9, 2021 at the age of 77. John was born in Whitwell, TN and was a life-long resident of Chattanooga. He was employed at the TNT Plant from 1964-1975, and the TVA Sequoyah Nuclear plant from 1975- 2005. John was a life-long fan of the Tennessee Volunteers Football team (Go Big Orange). He and his wife, Linda, of 47 years, loved to travel, and in retirement could be found either on the beaches of Florida, enjoying the Great Smokey Mountains, or the epic beauty of Alaska. He was a master storyteller and could command an audience for hours weaving in and out of lessons learned in life, making all of those listening better for it. He always put his family first, and saying he will be missed is an understatement.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Dora Mae Moore; sisters, Midge Morrison Mitzi Partin, and grandson, Cody Moore. John is survived by his wife, Linda Moore; sons, John A. Moore, Jr., Mike (Bubba) Moore; daughters, Nikki C. Moore, Mandy G. Culbertson; grandchildren, Loren Hilton, John and Hunter Moore, Cierra and Madison Culbertson, and great-grandson, Chase Moore.
