Jean Ann Freshour, 86, of Hixson, Tennessee Passed away on December 9, 2025, in the care of Hearth Hospice. Jean Ann was born in Neptune City, New Jersey on August 09, 1939, to the late Marion R. and Charles H. Voorhees. Jean Ann lived in West Palm Beach, Florida until she was 18 years old when she entered The Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She graduated as an RN with the highest honors for academic and clinical nursing in the Class of 1960.
Jean Ann was married to her loving husband, Walter L. Freshour, for 36 years. They were married at Northwood Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida on November 05, 1960.

Walter was a Master Sargent in the United States Air Force, and they made their home in several places, Washington DC, Honolulu, Hawaii, Altus, Oklahoma and Greenville, Texas. They retired to Hixson, Tennessee in 1974.

Jean Ann enjoyed her career in nursing in various places where they lived. Her last nursing position was Associate Director of Nursing at Parkridge Medical Center, Chattanooga, for 22 years from which she retired in 1996.
Jean Ann is a member of Hixson First Baptist Church in Hixson, Tennessee. She enjoyed her years as a volunteer of the Angel Food Ministry Program at church. She was an active member of the Golden Glows group that met once a month.

Jean Ann was predeceased by her parents, husband, Walter Lamar Freshour and an infant son, Walter Scott Freshour, sister Natalie Elizabeth Brown, brother Charles William Voorhees, sister-in-law Jenice W. Freshour and nieces Kathy Gail Hickman and Connie Emerling.

Survivors include: Two beloved sons: Roger Lamar (Debbie) Freshour Sr and Walter Brian Freshour. Two treasured grandsons: Roger Lamar Freshour Jr. and Walter Cameron Freshour (Ashley). One precious granddaughter, Tara Breann Freshour and one great grandson Walter Presley Freshour. Two loving Step-grandchildren, Mark Adam Christian and Ashley Christian McDowell. Loving sister Charlene Roberta Williams of Winter Springs, Florida. Nieces and nephews are Jamie Lynn Sommer of Palm Springs, Florida, Shannon (Darryl) Dawn Skinn of Winter Springs, Florida, Dolly (Lee)Voorhees Davis of Boca Raton, Florida and Lisa Brown, Florida, Kim (Jeff) Capen of Clinton, Ohio, Greg (Linda) Pulley of Massillon, Ohio, Darla Wilmon, Garry Opal) Lewis of Hixson, Tennessee, Reggie (Lisa ) Lewis of Hixson, Tennessee, Pamela Freshour of Hixson, Tennessee, Toby (David Smith of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Wendy Gail Longcrier, Veronda S. Longcrier of Tampa, Florida and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 6-8 PM at Hamilton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Hamilton Funeral Home with Brother Terry Shannon officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery
