Greg Lynn
Creswell
Feb 28, 1963 — Sep 1, 2022
Gregory (Greg) Lynn Creswell was born February 28, 1963 to Bob and Clioreta Creswell. He went home to be with Jesus on September 1, 2022.
Greg loved people, the lake, the ocean, boating, running, his family, and especially the love of his life Susan.
Greg was very routine about everything he did in life. First truck became 1000 pieces in mom and dad's garage until it was perfect with mufflers, shine, CB radio and all the latest gimmicks in 1978. His first thought of girls began his dedication to running. He ran 7 miles a day including all the bridges downtown (starting at 3:00AM so he could eat breakfast with Susan and make it to work). His obsession with boats drew him to buying a 60 ft. Sunseeker Yacht in Croatia and having it shipped to Florida. Greg's love for mom, dad and friends Kenny and Bridget and theirs for him, put them on a journey of a lifetime bringing the boat across Florida and the Gulf then to Chattanooga. Dad demanded debording half way up the Tim-Tom where older brother Tommy took over as mate. His brother Robbie stayed back to track the trip, worried about the decisions being made (or not), googling where the next marina for gas was and why you could not get reception in the middle of the ocean.
His devotion to his wife Susan led to a beautiful marriage for 18 years. After Susan had an extreme medical issue, Greg took care of her every need for the last 5 years. He never wavered a bit and brought true meaning to "till death do we part". His family was so proud of him, his kindness and commitment. Greg never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Greg loved to have a great time mainly on boats. So many people can tell you a "story" of Greg on Daddy Bob's and C.C's houseboat "The Seven C's", or one of his many boats at Riverbend, Raft Race or just out in the middle of the river playing cards with the guys. He was an excellent boat captain. Greg also spent many days on many cruise ships at many black jack tables. He loved that winning feeling.
Greg was obsessed with the "Andy Griffith Show" and could recite line by line of every episode.
He worked as business partner with his brother Robbie at Creswell Richardson, his dad's former company of 52 years. Greg loved his team at work as his family and was so proud to be a part of this group. His friend list is miles long and would be miles longer if you ever met him.
Greg loved the Lord and had just come from church when he had the accident. He was a Godly person and his family is comforted by his belief and knowing he is with his Mom and Dad and loved ones that have passed.
His family was most important to him. Greg is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Julia, Sister Suzanne, Brothers Tommy (Becky), Robbie (Tammy), nieces and nephews Houston, Trent, Justin, Anna and his beloved Lacy and Ally. Greg never failed to keep up with their progress on a daily basis.
The family would like to encourage everyone to consider an "Advance Directive for Healthcare". Please go to https://eforms.com/download/2015/11/Advance-Directive-for-Health-Care.pdf .
Greg did an awesome job of taking care of his plans for his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to Bethel Bible Village, McKamey's Animal Clinic or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 11:00am until 2:30pm. A Celebration of life service will follow the visitation from 2:30-3:00 in the Chapel.
