Grady Eugene Massingill , 90, of Ringgold Georgia, unexpectedly passed away on February 16, 2023.

Grady was born on August 16 ^th , 1932 to Tom and Nora Massingill in Dalton Georgia. After graduating from Central High School in Chattanooga TN, Grady enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country as an aviation technician.

In 1954, Grady married the love of his life, Wynell "Nell" Cross. Grady and Nell went on to have 3 children, Thomas "Reid" , Randall "Randy" Grady and Rhonda Lynn. At the time of his death, Grady and Nell were married for almost 69 years.

He started his first job at South Central Bell (later AT&T) as a linesman, installing telephone communication lines along the newly developed I-75 interstate, kickstarting a 30 year long career and retiring as a technical fiber optics specialist. Grady then started his second career at Erlanger Hospital continuing his skill in fiberoptics for several years. The last 10 years of his working career were at TVA downtown where he worked in communications and fiber optics services.

Grady was a faithful servant of his Church. He served as minister of music for over two decades at Frawley Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon, as well as the building committee. He set the standard as a faithful and loving husband, father, grand father and faithful servant of God.

Grady was predeceased in death by his father - Thomas Green Massingill, mother - Nora Ella Massingill, sister - Sybil Massingill, brother - Richard Massingill and grandson - Justin Reid Massingill.

He is survived by his wife Wynell "Nell" Massingill, sons - Thomas "Reid" Massingill & Randall "Randy" Grady Massingill (Pam), daughter - Rhonda Lynn Faile (Tim), brother -Jerry Thomas Massingill (Susan) and sister – Nancy Welch (Roger). Grandchildren – Rachel Massingill, Magen Faile, Taylor Massingill (Katie), Kelsey Faile, Austin Massingill (Alexis). Great grandchildren – Evan Posey, Brantley, Hudson, Bennett, Grey & Cash Massingill.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home located at 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson TN 37343 on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 11:00am until 2:00pm.

Service will follow the visitation and begin at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Darrel Davenport officiating.
