George H. Ellis Sr of Chattanooga went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 5th surrounded by his family.

He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga, GA and Chattanooga TN. He was a founding member of Calvary Bible Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Insulators and Asbestos Workers union for 61 years.

George had a servants heart and never met a stranger.  He was a devoted son, husband, father and friend.

George was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Ellis, his mother Annie Lee, his beloved wife Cecelia his brother Fred and sisters Kathrine and Caroline.

George is survived by his son Chip Ellis, daughter Cece (Rob) Elsea grandchildren Blake (Blake), Alec (Beka), Reid (Lolo) and Tucker. Also, a sister, Nancy and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11: 00 A.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with pastor Bill Henry officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Hamilton Funeral Home.
