Genece Chambers McKamey, 96, of Hixson went to be with Jesus Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Genece was born August 4, 1924 in Lawrenceburg, Tn. to the late Ansol and Hettie Chambers. Went to Lawrenceburg High School, graduated and moved to Chattanooga and worked at Rivoli Mill till 1967. Took computer classes till she went to work at First Tennessee, until she retired. Genece was a member of Burks United Methodist Church and Mr. Eldridge Sunday school class.

Genece was preceded in death by husband, James Lester McKamey of 60 yrs.; son, James Fletcher McKamey Sr.; grandson, James (Jimmy) Fletcher McKamey Jr.; brother, Charles Edward Sutton Sr.; nephew, Charles Edward Sutton Jr..

She is survived by her twin sister, Geneva Chambers Crabb of Goodlettsville Tn.; youngest sister, Ramona Chambers Hamby of Hixson Tn.; granddaughter, Wendy Sue McKamey of Jacksonville, Fl.; with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Tony Collins and Reverend J.N. Howard.

Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
