Gary Dale Bolinger, 77, of Hixson Tennessee passed away Sunday August 21, 2022 due to complications of cancer, with his loving wife by his side. Gary was a one of a kind, number one Papa, Husband, and Dad who is greatly missed.

Gary was born September 27, 1944 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to the late Chloe and Virgil Bolinger. He was the baby boy of 5 children, with the last surviving being his sister Sarah. After high school, Gary served 4 years in the Navy during the Vietnam War; after which, a blind date would seal Gary's future. He met, courted, and married the love of his life, Kathy, all within a whirlwind of 8 California winter weeks. The two spent the next 51 years and 222 days married joyfully through all of life's ups and downs. Gary enjoyed traveling, family boating, golfing, a cold brewski, a good meal, and making memories with loved ones. He retired from Synair Corporation after 45 combined years of dedication and hard work. In his work life, Gary was the type of boss everyone wanted as a mentor and leader. He worked the line with his team and treated all he knew with equality, kindness, and fairness. Gary built a beautiful life and was always humble and thankful for what he had. He retired twice and was given two retirement parties and a set of golf clubs. Gary could build anything and fix anything; we just wish he was still here to fix our broken hearts.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Chloe Bolinger, brothers, James Rowland and Donald Ray Bolinger and one sister Mary Lou Ritchie.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathleen Maloney Bolinger, sons, Stephen (Ginny) Burr of Port Charlotte, Florida, Michael Burr of Seattle, Washington, Brandon (Erin) Bolinger of Chattanooga and sister, Sarah Fultz of Ontario, California. He also leaves his two favorite treasures, his grandchildren, Lennon (9) and Thomas (3), who greatly miss their Papa. Gary will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held for Gary at the family home located at 6245 Heritage Ridge Dr. Hixson, TN on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
