Fran ("Laura Frances") Reitzel Beaver departed this life on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Chattanooga, TN. She was 88 years old. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith. (2 Timothy 4:7.)"

Fran is survived by her devoted children: Sheri (Jeff) Carmichael and Doug Beaver; grandchildren Laura (William) Probasco and Paige Carmichael; her brother Jack (Pat) Reitzel of Tarboro, NC and several nieces and nephews.

Fran was born in Hillsborough, NC in 1933 to the late Walter John Reitzel and Daisy Ernestine Miller Reitzel. Fran graduated from Efland High School and obtained a certificate in business from a regional business college. Fran worked as a stewardess with Eastern Airlines during which time she met and later wed Fred R. Beaver. They were married 13 years until Fred's death. Fran often said Fred was the love of her life and she never remarried. She worked at IBM Corporation in Nashville and Chattanooga, TN, from which she retired after 25 years. Fran attended Rivermont Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, TN.

In addition to her husband and parents, Fran was preceded in death by her sisters Hazel M. Reitzel and Alice R. Phillips.

Fran was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend with a quick wit and a side of feist.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby St., Chattanooga, TN 37404 (Phone: 423-629-1451) www.orangegrovecenter.org , the organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, such as Fran's son Doug.

There will be no visitation, however, a private family graveside service will be held Monday, November 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm (Central Time) at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane,  Old Hickory, TN 37138.
