Forrest Claiborne Forman Sr, age 82, of Elder Mountain, passed away on July 7, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Forrest joined the U.S. Navy at age 18 and proudly served his country for four years. After attending University of Chattanooga, Forrest owned and operated the local Culligan franchise for decades. With the support of his family, in 2000, Forrest started Purity Drinking Water, which is still operated by his son, Clay.

Forrest, also known as "Fats", was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and birdwatching. He could often be found on weekends swapping stories with his hunting buddies and with a cigar hanging from the side of his mouth. He was an amateur historian with a passion for Civil War battlefields. Pops loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, who always brought a twinkle to his eye, even in his final moments.

Forrest is survived by his beautiful bride, Jo Ann, his two sons, David Crisp and Clay (Natalie) Forman, and his grandchildren, Walter and Carolyn Anne Crisp, all of Chattanooga, his brother David Forman of Fort Lauderdale and many nieces and nephews.

Forrest was predeceased by his parents, George and Evelyne Forman, and a brother, George.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson (423) 531-3975.
