Edward J. Dodski Jr., 66, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. Ed was born in April 1956 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, to the late Edward J. Dodski Sr. and Ann Dombrowski Dodski.

He graduated from Becton Regional High School in 1974 and joined the U.S. Navy that same summer. In 1994, after a 20-year military career, Ed retired from the Navy as a chief machinist mate. He stayed within the engineering world, becoming a third engineer on the Delta Queen paddleboat—definitely his favorite job. In 2020, he finished his working career in maintenance at Shaw Plant 4 in Dalton.

Ed enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, playing UNO—where he was known as "Wildcard Ed"—attending and tailgating at Atlanta Falcons games, and spending time with his wife.  In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, John Kurtz, and a sister, Natalie Caldaro.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deborah P. Dodski; his children, Adam Dodski and Lauren Dodski Martin; grandchildren, Phoebe Kjar, Emory Martin, and Julianna Dodski, with Alexander Dodski expected to arrive in July; sister and brother-in-law, Ellenjo and Ken Backus; nephew, Sean Daoust; and great niece and nephew, Mikaela and Callaghan Daoust.
