On Sunday, June 21, 2020, Chattanooga resident Doris Harwood joined her beloved husband Laurence in Heaven surrounded by loved ones.

In 1954, she relocated with her husband to Chattanooga from Mississippi. In the mid- 70's, they cofounded Harwood International Corporation, a locally based international computer concern.   Doris was a devout Catholic, an active member of Saint Jude Catholic Church and a board member of the World of Hope Foundation. Earlier in her career she worked for the public department of education and volunteered at Ladies of Charity.  She was a lifelong fan of Bridge, eventually teaching her grandchildren the game.

Survivors include her four devoted children; three daughters, Diana (Mark) Peterson, Sandy Leffew, Jan (Chuck) McDonald; and son, Laurence Harwood Jr (Beth); eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; five remaining siblings and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, son-in-law Robert Leffew, and one great-grandson.

The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to her private caregivers and to the staff at Manorhouse Pavilion Care.

There will be a family mass and burial.
