Dean
Melton
Apr 20, 1934 — Nov 29, 2025
Chattanooga
Dean Melton, age 91 passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his home. Dean was a loyal, steady, and big-hearted man whose presence brought warmth, kindness, and quiet strength to everyone who knew him.
Dean is survived by his devoted wife, Regina Melton, his sisters Sara Cordell (Paul), brothers Jackie Melton (Patty), Ronnie Melton. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He also leaves two very special friends, Ron and Wanda Chambers, who were like family to him and Regina, along with a special lady, Lisa Holland, who held a meaningful place in his heart.
Dean was born in Meigs County, Tennessee; he grew up with a deep sense of family, faith, and community. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying those values of honor and service throughout his life. After his military service, Dean worked hard and retired from Farmers Chemical Company in Chattanooga and later from the City of Chattanooga, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
He was an active member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for over 60 years. His faith grounded him in strengthening him and guided him in the way he lived, treating others with compassion, patience, and humility. His church family meant the world to him, and he cherished the fellowship he found there.
He also had a lifelong passion for old cars and the friendships he built through his car club. Dean loved classic cars-the craftsmanship, the shining chrome, and the fellowship of friends gathered around a hood swapping stories. His car club friends were a second family to him, and those memories brought him great joy.
Dean is proceeded in death by his parents Neal "Bus" and Vernice Melton, his brothers Don Melton, and Jame "JE" Melton, and his sisters Betty Holder, and Virginia Cordell.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2- PM followed by A Celebration of Life Service for Dean at 4 PM at Hamilton Funeral Home 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson TN with Brother Billy Wallace and Brother Roger DeHart officiating.
