David Ray Gamble, 83, of Georgetown, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 13, 2023 with his family by his side. He is proceeded in death by his parents William Austin and Julia Everett Gamble, his nine siblings, and special uncles Thomas Luke and Virgil Roy Gamble.

Ray leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years Patsy Gamble. His three children Joy (Chad) Miller, David (Candice) Gamble II, Tommy (Vicky) Gamble all of Georgetown. Ray has several precious grandchildren he loved dearly, Luke Ferguson, Lauren Liggin, David III, McKenlei and Devin Gamble, Caroline Miller, Cayden, Ethen and Skylar Smith. Ray was blessed with 4 special great grandchildren he adored Silas, Samson, Slade, and Lovelynn. He has one surviving brother John (Sarah) Gamble, and several nieces and nephews.

Ray retired from Hamilton County Schools in 2021. He was a contract school bus driver for 39 years. During his time with the school system he made many friends that he considered family. Ray also farmed the family farm in Georgetown for many years.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 16 from 4-7 at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at New Union Baptist Church, 11516 Meadowview Road Georgetown, TN 37336.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chattanooga Kidney Foundation 931 McCallie Avenue Chattanooga, TN 37403.
