Cynthia "Diane" Gentry, 59, loving wife, mother, "Nana", sister and friend left this world suddenly on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Diane was born in Florida in 1962. She moved to Chattanooga in 1979 to marry her first husband, and she remained in the city to raise her daughter, Angela. She continued her career at Lookout Beverages where she later met her best friend and soulmate, Mark Gentry. They were married for 30 years. In 2019 she went on to work at U.S.Express. Diane's hobbies included doing puzzles, reading Stephen King novels, and watching her favorite shows (Survivor & Big Brother). She was also a dog mom and a big supporter of St. Jude hospital. The family is also proud to share that Diane was an organ donor.

She was preceded in death by Esther & William Trammell; mother, and stepfather and Deborah Barwick; sister.

Survived by her husband, Mark Gentry; daughter, Angela (Kevin) Woody; Stepson, Joe Gentry; sister, Dori (Billy) Daniels; grandson, Dylan Defriece; mother-in-law, Barbara Gentry; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.  to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Hamilton Funeral Home prior to the chapel service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
