Obituary

With profound sadness we announce that Candace Cherie Hindmon Houck of Chattanooga,
Tennessee, passed away at the age of 33 on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born on
February 16, 1991.

Candace was a graduate of Ringgold High School, and went on to earn an Associate of Nuclear
Science degree. She was well-known in the community for her love of photography and talents
with modeling. She was chosen as a model for Hairbenders Internationale, as well as for local
artist Jonathon Bidwell, who painted a large-scale mural of her on the side of a building in
downtown Chattanooga.

Candace was a warm, genuine, caring, artistic, vibrant person, who is described by those
missing her as "an incredible friend", "a precious person", "a beautiful soul", "an amazing person
who always inspired me", and "a woman who deeply felt and loved".

She is survived by her father Bill Hindmon, mother Beverly Miller Salhany, stepfather Nick
Salhany, grandmother Norma Miller, siblings Christina Hindmon Gilbert (Scott), Billy Hindmon,
Michael Brown, Brandon Hindmon, Marissa Salhany, Colin Salhany, Cailyn Salhany, nieces and
nephews Gavin Landers, Zane Gilbert, Ariel Gilbert, Daisy Brown, several aunts, uncles, and
cousins, and many amazing friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend Candace's memorial service at Hamilton Funeral Home
on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, with the service starting at
3:00pm.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming outpour of love
and support after Candace's passing. There is solace in seeing evidence of how far-reaching
and deeply felt her impact was, and how many people are collectively grieving the loss of her
light.

May her gorgeous spirit continue to inspire each person who knew her, and may her legacy of
artistic expression and seeing the beauty in everyone live on.

Rest in peace, Candace. You will be forever missed and remembered.
