Beverly Elaine (Johnston) Gooding, 86, passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Beverly was born on September 29,1940 to Charles D. Johnston and Hattie (Smith) Johnston in Pikeville, Tennessee.

Beverly enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking. In her younger years, she spent time playing bingo, making ceramics and she was an avid bowler, winning many trophies and tournaments. She was also a proud Air Force wife.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Clay Burdett; her parents and brothers, Charles D. Johnston, Jr. and James L. Johnston.

Beverly is survived by her two sons, Harry (Denise) Clay Burdett, Jr. of Springfield, Michigan and David (Michele) Lamar Burdett of Hixson, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She is also survived by her sister, Frances Claudine Bell of Middle Valley, Tennessee, and two sisters-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Thursday at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tennessee 37343, followed by a graveside service at 3:30 PM at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
