Bettye Rose Wilkey Clark, 78, took her final breath at home surrounded by adoring family and peacefully stepped into the presence of Jesus on Saturday, July 3, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Chattanooga, TN on June 13, 1943, to Max R. Wilkey, Sr and Rosa Hill Wilkey and attended Red Bank High school where she met her husband, Walter Franklin "Frank" Clark. Bettye was employed by Dixie Yarns for a number of years. She was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and for many years enjoyed traveling and camping alongside Frank. Also affectionately known as "BR" she absolutely loved cake with almond buttercream frosting so birthday and wedding celebrations with friends & family were some of her favorite pastimes. She never met a stranger, loved to laugh and had a quick sense of humor. Bettye was selfless, always giving of herself especially as her role as mother to her four loving daughters and was an amazingly loving and doting Nana to her 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the challenge of bargain shopping and was a top selling consignor in several children's consignment sales within the area.

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Max & Rosa Wilkey and brother, Max R. Wilkey, Jr.

In addition to her husband, Frank of 62 years, survivors include her daughters, Terrianna (Roger) Crawford, Susan (Mark) Chaffin, Lisa (Ron) Bird and Angela (Sean) McDaniel. Grandchildren, Nathan (Carrie) Chance, Travis Chance, Zack (Jen) Crawford, Kyle (Ashley) Crawford, Tara (Bryan) Martin, Tonya (Jonathan) Brock, Tiffany (Tyler) Gunter, Jason Bird, Brooke (Joel) Greene, Nicole Bird, Trevor McDaniel, Conner McDaniel, Gavin McDaniel and Declan McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Boone, Wilder, Asher & Collins Chance; Colton & Wes Crawford; Mackenzie Lambert; Braden, Logan & Addison Martin; Andrew, Jacob & Faith Brock; Heath Gunter; Haley Bird; Kasi, Eric, Lily & Aden Greene; a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 4-8 PM and Wednesday, July 7 ^th 1-2:30 PM at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson TN 37343. Funeral service to be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 2:30 PM at the funeral home followed by burial at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, TN. Pallbearers will be Nathan & Travis Chance, Zack & Kyle Crawford, Jason Bird, Trevor, Conner, Gavin & Declan McDaniel.
