Betty Rose Wallace (née Wallingsford) of Hixson peacefully passed surrounded by family in her home on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the age of 89.

Betty was born on March 31, 1932 in Scottsboro, Alabama. She was married to her loving husband Charles for nearly 70 years. Together, they built a family of over 40 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who loved them very much.

Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother ("Nanny") with a love and talent for sewing, knitting, and cooking. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers, shopping with her girls, and going to church. She happily spent many hours sitting on her front porch swing watching hummingbirds and listening to her wind chimes with her family and beloved dog, Wally. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Truth Seekers life group.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles; her mother, Oma Wallingsford; and her father, Luther Wallingsford.

Betty is survived by her children, Donna Cambron, Kip Wallace, Rose Bull (Larry), Debbie Butterfield (Daniel), and Linda Simcox (Larry); sister, Mary Wallingsford; brothers, Jake Wallingsford (Mary) and Pete Wallingsford (Teresa); grandchildren, Kerrie Lewis, Alicia Donahue (David), Clifton Dodd (Lori), Amber Noblit (Jack), Jamie Owens (Earl), Brandie Kay (Jeremy), Alan Dodd (Jazman), Ashleigh Struthers (Jonathan), Brittney Grooms (Jack), Tyler Lewis, Erin Simcox, and Austin Simcox; along with 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, December 31, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Harvey officiating.  Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
