Obituary

Angela "Angel" Shawn Williams, 49, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on April 30, 2026.

Born on August 10, 1976, in East Ridge, Tennessee, Angela spent her life in the Chattanooga area, where she built countless friendships and touched the lives of so many who knew her.

Angela was a vibrant, free-spirited soul whose laughter could fill a room and whose presence was impossible to ignore. She never met a stranger and had a rare gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed, seen, and loved. Whether walking into a gathering full of familiar faces or complete strangers, she had a way of instantly connecting with people and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

An entrepreneur for more than 20 years, Angela pursued many passions throughout her life. Her journey began with photography, combining her artistic eye with her love for cars and motorcycles. Later, she found success detailing boats while spending years living on the water — a place that truly brought her peace and happiness. Whether at the lake or the ocean, the water was where Angela felt most alive. She also cared deeply about protecting wildlife and preserving the beauty of the waters she loved so much.

Angela's creativity extended far beyond photography. She was also an incredibly talented painter whose murals and artwork reflected her artistic spirit and natural talent. Those who saw her work often found it hard to believe she had never painted professionally.

Angela was preceded in death by her sister, Chasity Whaley; her father, Jimmy Whaley; and her grandparents, Elsie and Ralph Strickland.

She is survived by her mother, Valera Davies; her brother, Kelsey Wiley; her daughter, Morgan Ballew; her son, Jesse Williams; her beloved granddaughter, Kaileia Nelson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

Angela will be remembered for her larger-than-life spirit, kind heart, artistic soul, and the joy she brought everywhere she went. Her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
