Alicia Socorro Infante de Ayala
Alicia Socorro Infante de Ayala, 53, of Hixson, Tennessee, peacefully answered the call home to our Lord surrounded by family on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, in a local hospital. Born on Monday, October 26th, 1970, in Kansas City, Missouri, Alicia was the beloved daughter of Fernando Salvador Infante Betancourt and Irma Alicia de la Cruz de Infante of Guadalajara, Mexico.
Alicia spent parts of her childhood in Santa Barbara, California, and Guadalajara, Mexico. Alicia graduated from high school at the Universidad de Guadalajara. She met her loving husband, Juan Manuel Ayala, as a colleague at a hospital in Guadalajara. Alicia and Juan were married by the Catholic Church on Thursday, December 22nd, 1994, marking 29 years of holy marriage. A dedicated stay-at-home mother to her four children, Alicia later committed 12 years of service to Schnellecke Logistics in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and was affectionately known by several colleagues. Alicia was a parishioner of Saint Jude Catholic Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She embodied the essence of an angel on earth. She was a brilliant, ambitious, courageous, compassionate, and persevering woman who loved wholeheartedly. Her selflessness and unwavering devotion were constant sources of protection, nurture, and support for her family, friends, and significant others.
Alicia is survived by her husband, Juan Manuel Ayala; her four children: sons, Evans Ayala, Alec Ayala, Francisco Manuel Ayala; and her daughter, Natalie Ayala; her mother, Irma Alicia de la Cruz de Infante; and her three brothers, Francisco Salvador Infante, Victor Manuel Infante, and Everardo Infante. She is preceded in death by her father, Fernando Salvador Infante Betancourt, and her brother, Victor Hugo Infante.
The Ayala-Infante family extends its deepest gratitude to all who lovingly cared for Alicia throughout her courageous battle with ovarian cancer including, Natashau Mines, Marie Hamilton, Stephen DePasquale, Shae Connor, Todd Boren, and the entire care team at Erlanger Women's Oncology. Special thanks also go to the nursing care teams at CHI Memorial Hospital's 4 East Inpatient Oncology Unit and Erlanger Hospital's 5000 Gynecology/Oncology Unit.
In lieu of flowers, we would like to offer a monetary gift to benefit the Erlanger Women's Oncology office. These funds will be directed as donations to support fellow warriors in their recovery from gynecological cancers. Contributions can be made through the GoFundMe page: Empowering Warriors: A Legacy of Hope against Ovarian Cancer (https://gofund.me/f47c155).
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 4th, at 5:30 p.m. at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37415. The family invites all family, friends, and guests to celebrate Alicia's life and enduring legacy.
