Alice Hoppe, 73, of Chattanooga, passed peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Alice Amanda was born November 7, 1946 to Glenn & Lillian Lee Posey of Soddy, Tennessee.

She was a graduate of the class of 1964 from Soddy-Daisy High School.  She was known as Pixie by those who knew her best and was the former owner & licensed cosmetologist of the "Pixie Shop" Beauty Salon in Soddy-Daisy, TN.  She later graduated from the Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing as a RN, where she spent the majority of her career working alongside her husband, Dr. Rudolph Hoppe, where together, they cared for many patients.  Alice was a member of Soddy Church of God for many years until she married and later attended Red Bank & Hixson Methodist Churches with her husband Rudy.  "Mimi" as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, was an accomplished cook who created many delicious meals for her family, especially her fantastic desserts.  Alice also had a beautiful singing voice & became part of the group, "The Harmony Honeys", along with her childhood friends under the leadership of their beloved music teacher Mrs. Dorothy Jenkins.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents Lillian A. and Glenn Posey, beloved husband of 37 years, Rudolph "Rudy" Hoppe, sister Glenda Nichols, & brother Ronald Posey.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Taylor Stott (Allen), their children Tara Stott Richmond (MeJ), Tyler Stott (Kaitlin), & Taylor Stott Vincent (Logan) & apples-of-her eye great grandchildren, Sawyer & Maggie, whom she cherished spending time with and who always made her smile. She is also survived by her brother Johnny Posey of Florida, several cousins, nieces, nephews, members of the Hoppe family including step-children (Jon, Judy, Debbie, & Kathy), grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Alice spent over 30 years as "Mimi" along with their beloved "Papaw" making many memories with grandchildren Tara, Tyler, Taylor, Lindsey, Emily, Courtney and family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home.

The family will have a private graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Chattanooga.
